14 Wounded Vets Flown to San Angelo for Hunting and Healing

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Support for Veterans on Wednesday welcomed this year's veterans that will participate in the annual veterans hunt.

The group arrived at the San Angelo regional airport on Dec. 8 at 4 p.m. Along with the veterans, a number of supporters surrounded the terminal and welcomed the group into San Angelo.

The goal of this operation is to give wounded veterans the chance to hunt and heal. Founder of the Lone Star Warriors Operation Chris Gill says this is the most important part of the whole thing.

"We got 14 vets that will be divided at different ranches and they're going to get to hunt, have a good time, and heal," said Gill. "This is what it is all about."

The group will be enjoying the activities until the end of the week.
