GoFundMe Set Up for Memorial Bench for Mom Killed in Horrific Crash

SAN ANGELO, TX –– Nearly ten months ago the San Angelo community mourned the tragic passing of Kristine "Kristy" Rodriguez in a fatal crash at the intersection of 19th and Chadbourne. To honor her memory her family is raising money to construct a memorial bench that will be placed near the intersection.

"Kristy passed away on January 25, 2021, while sitting at the traffic light at 19th and Chadbourne Streets. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, friend, and wife who always had an infectious smile and laughter," said her family in the GoFundMe. "She was always interested in the well-being of others and never hesitated to reach out to someone in need, especially those with mental health and emotional needs."

Family and friends are currently raising money to commission the bench with Smith Steelworks of Spanish Fork, Utah. The bench will include Kristy's picture and items that were important in her life, like mental health awareness. Kristy worked for MHMR Services of the Concho Valley at the San Angelo Clubhouse and part-time at GAFB's commissary.

"The family wanted a permanent memorial to honor Kristy who had a passion for helping people in the community with mental health needs," said the family in a statement. "Her job at the San Angelo Clubhouse opened her eyes to the mental health needs of her community and she saw how a wonderful venue like the Clubhouse could help people better their lives."

Her family hopes to have the bench in place by Christmas Day, which would have been Kristy's 39th birthday. The project is expected to take approximately six weeks to be completed.

Anyone interested in donating to this project can do so online on the GoFundMePage.

This lady did not deserve to get any help for this wonderful person who passed. She cleaned out her daughter's account and left nothing for the husband and kids. She has also taken advantage of the system and also has served time because her husband and her stole her kids identity when they were younger and used them to open account. What a disgrace for this woman right here to serve this town she is a fake and she harrasses innocent people at their job and their own home yes Kristy deserved this bench but Sharon troy is a rat and will get her karma one day.

Ms. Rodriguez:

First, your message is nearly incomprehensibly poorly written.  Second, it at least borders on being libelous.  Your outrage may be real, but you may consider expressing it better.
