Spieker Runs for Re-Election as County Treasurer

San Angelo, TX – Diana Speaker is running for re-election as Tom Green County Treasurer and has released the following statement:

With a fire and passion to continue serving our community, I am announcing my candidacy for reelection as “Your” Tom Green County Treasurer.

I have a proven record as an involved, direct and compassionate leader who brings people together to get things done with a focus on what’s best for our community. Tom Green County is an amazing place to live and work, and I intend to build on our past successes.

During my current term I began paying Vendors via Direct Deposits and continue to implement innovative ways to streamline and maintain high efficiency in the three offices I manage. (Treasurer, Indigent Health Care and County and Justice Court Compliance).

As Investment Office, I preserve the county funds while maintaining liquidity and safety. Even in a declining interest environment I was able to earn over $1.6 million during this term of office.

My Community involvement includes serving on MHMR of the Concho Valley Board as Vice-Chair, United Way of the Concho Valley as Treasurer, TGC Bail Bond Board as Chair and as a member of the Community Partnership with Goodfellow AFB.

I served as the 2004-2005 Past President for the County Treasurer’s Association of Texas (CTAT) and continue to serve as their Research Liaison. During this next year 2021- 2022 I will serve as a Sector Director and Co-Chair of Education.

I am honored to hold the 2015 State of Texas Outstanding County Treasurer Award.

I respectfully ask for your vote both at the Republican Primary Election and General Election of 2022.
