NOTICE: Loud Explosions Expected All Day in San Angelo Saturday

SAN ANGELO, TX – All across San Angelo you may hear loud booms that sound like explosions but don't worry it is just the cannons that will be celebrating Independence Day.

The cannon fire will begin at 10 a.m. sharp at the Fort Concho Stables. They will continue until 3 p.m. Fort Concho will celebrate an old Independence Day Army tradition of firing hourly artillery salutes on the Parade Ground near Barracks 1 Visitor Center to mark the nation’s 245th birthday.

Then the cannons will be moved to the River Stage to be apart of San Angelo LIVE!'s Star Spangled Banner Concert and Fireworks Show. They will be shot in synch with the Air Force Band of the West during their performance of the 1812 Overture.
