Boys & Girls Club of San Angelo to Host Free Food Box Distribution

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Boys & Girls Club of San Angelo has partnered with Save the Children to distribute free boxes filled with fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, milk, and dairy products Saturday to families in Tom Green County.

The event is a part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farmers to Families Food Box program.

Families and individuals interested can participate in the drive-up distribution event on Saturday, February 6th. The event will be held at 1802 N. Lillie St. at the Boys & Girls Club.

“We know that coronavirus continues to have significant, detrimental impacts on children and families across Tom Green County. The Boys & Girls Club is proud to be part of the solution to ensure fresh food reaches rural communities,” said Tiffany S. Parker, Chief Executive Officer at the Boys & Girls Club of San Angelo. “Sadly, there are parents going without to ensure their kids have the food they need to grow healthy and strong. By coordinating distribution efforts in this community, we’re hopeful we can help curb hunger for kids and adults alike.”
