AEP Working on Power Outages Across Tom Green County

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – AEP is reporting power outages across the Concho Valley Monday. 

According to AEP, on Jan. 25, nearly 10,000 residents were left without power in North San Angelo and Northern Tom Green County.

In area code 76903, over half of residents do not have power.

In area code 76934, 99 percent of residents do not have power.

The National Weather Service is reporting wind gusts of 46 miles per hour which can cause outages.

AEP is currently working on fixing the situation.

 

UPDATE MONDAY JAN. 25 11:20 A.M.:

According to AEP, loss of a 69-kV transmission line serving the Grape Creek and Lake Drive substations resulted in approximately 9,500 San Angelo customers losing power Crews are working to determine the extent of the problem; however, it is too soon to project an estimated restoration time.
