COSA: Everything is Back to Normal but Still Social Distance

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- City of San Angelo's top health official Dr. James Vretis says all rec parks and apartments came open back up freely as long as they follow social distancing. 

The following is the City of San Angelo's implementation of control measures on property related to the COVID-19 virus: 


WHEREAS, under Texas Health and Safety Code §81.082, the Public Health Authority has the authority and control over disease control measures within its jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, under Texas Health and Safety Code §81.082(c) those measures can be imposed on a place; and
WHEREAS, under Texas Health and Safety Code §81.082(f) those measures can include prevention; and
WHEREAS, under Texas Health and Safety Code §81.084(k) the health authority may impose control measures he considers necessary and most appropriate to arrest, control, and eradicate the threat to the public health; and
WHEREAS, under the authority of Texas Health and Safety Code §81.082 the Local Health Authority has passed measures restricting recreation and public areas at hotels and apartment complexes.
WHEREAS, since that the number of positive cases of COVID-19 within Tom Green County has decreased those controls may be removed.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Dr. James Vretis, Tom Green County Public Health Authority, hereby immediately rescind the following orders.
1. All restrictions on public areas of apartment complexes and hotels within the City of San Angelo are rescinded effective immediately.
2. All restrictions on recreational activities within the City of San Angelo are hereby rescinded as of 12 a.m. on June 1, 2020. This includes but is not limited to all skating areas, basketball courts, beaches, and camping areas.
This Order is issued under my authority as Public Health Authority for Tom Green County, Texas on this the 20th day of May, 2020.
