SAN ANGELO, TX – Lake View High School Librarian Allison Peterson was named as the district's Secondary Teacher of the Year award recipient, while Reagan Elementary teacher Nicholas Sanchez was named as the district Elementary Teacher of the Year.
Allison and Nicholas were chosen out of 25 individual campus teacher of the year nominees and were announced during a district virtual celebration event Friday, May 1. Campus teachers of the year were nominated by a committee of their peers from their campus for their outstanding leadership and excellence in teaching the children of San Angelo. A panel of judges reviewed campus nomination forms and chose the district winners.
The two district winners were each presented with an engraved award provided by Concho Educators Federal Credit Union. SAISD would like to thank Credit Union President Jerry Merrill and Vice President/CFO Kathy Gonzales for their support.
Allison and Nicholas will now compete for the Region 15 Teacher of the Year award.
