Fort Concho Cancels This Year's Frontier Day

SAN ANGELO, TX – Fort Concho has announced the official cancellation of the 2020 Frontier Day. The annual event had originally been rescheduled to Saturday, June 6, but organizers are unsure what public gathering guidelines will be like for that day.

“We polled our volunteers and the members of the Lions Clubs who handle the pancake breakfast, and there were concerns we could not manage and operate this large event safely under current or future state and city guidelines,” Site Manager Bob Bluthardt said.

Sponsors will be contacted about their support with the option of a carryover for the 2021 event set for Saturday, April 24. The Regional Cavalry Competition, canceled earlier this spring, is also scheduled for April 22-24 of 2021.
