SAN ANGELO, TX – After the recent test in February, the city of San Angelo created a webpage to help explain how all the different types of alerts work. Alerts are sent to phones, social media, and broadcast platforms (TV, radio, weather radio).
The emergency alert system is used to warn the public of impending emergencies due to a severe storm or a tornado sighting in the area.
Here are a few things from the website about Alertsense:
- Alerts will be sent out over landlines using reverse 9-1-1. The caller ID will be from San Angelo and be from phone number 325-486-3799.
- You can sign-up with AlertSense to receive ALL alerts to either your landline or cell phone. Visit https://public.alertsense.com/SignU… for more information.
- Also, if you have multiple phones at a residence or business and would like for certain phone numbers to be removed from the call list, please email [email protected] with a list of phone numbers that you would like to be removed.
