WATCH: City of San Angelo Crews Repairing Major Water Main Break

SAN ANGELO, TX – City of San Angelo water distribution crews are currently battling the water main break that occurred on Saturday.

As previously reported, on February 22, water distribution crews with the City of San Angelo were called out to the 18th and Main for the report of a water main break.

When the crews arrived they discovered a 20-inch break on the line. Check out the original story: City Crews Working on Major Water Main Break

Since the original break the crews have determined that another contractor putting in utility lines caused the bust. Now city crews have to fix it because the concrete steel pipe require welding repairs.

Here is a video of crews repairing the leak:

It is unknown how long it will take for the major break to be fixed but crews are currently on scene working.

UPDATE 2/24/2020:

Head of the Water Department Allison Strube has informed San Angelo LIVE! that the break will be patched today.

The street wil not been drivable until the water drys and crews fill the hole.

In around one week the street's and bridge division will repave where the hole was made.
