Atmos Energy to Distribute Bill Assistance Funds in "Sharing the Warmth" Event

SAN ANGELO, TX – To ensure all of its customers can stay warm during the winter months Atmos Energy is partnering with the Concho Valley Community Action Agency to distribute assistance funds to customers who need help paying for their natural gas bill. The funds will help relieve past-due debt, deposits and service charges.

"Our mission is to improve lives and empower people in the Concho Valley area, and these generous funds provide much needed financial relief to the elderly, disabled, military veterans and low-income families with children,” said Dr. Mark Bethune, CVCAA executive director.

On Thursday, Feb. 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Atmos Energy will be hosting it's annual “Sharing the Warmth” program at The Cactus Hotel. Sharing the Warmth leverages the generosity of customer donations with additional contributions by Atmos Energy that amplify the amount of assistance offered.

"Atmos Energy’s ‘Sharing the Warmth’ program enhances our community efforts with on-the-spot bill assistance that is available to all customers regardless of their income level,” said Bethune,

Atmos Energy residential customers with their most recent bill are invited to attend. 

“Last year Atmos Energy’s ‘Sharing the Warmth’ program provided $200,000 in bill assistance to more than 1,000 natural gas customers in the North Texas area,” said Rochel Ditmore, Atmos Energy manager of public affairs. “By partnering with organizations like CVCAA to distribute financial assistance in the communities we serve, Atmos Energy helps offset household energy burdens when our valued customers need it most.” 

Atmos Energy residential customers who have received two or fewer “Sharing the Warmth” pledges in the past year are eligible to receive funding. No appointment is necessary, however, funds are limited and disbursed on a first-come, first-served basis to customers who bring their Atmos Energy account number or most recent bill in the applicant’s name.
