SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Independent School District has delayed classes for two hours Wednesday because of weather concerns according to information from the district's website. "Due to anticipated weather conditions and for the safety of our students and staff, San Angelo ISD will have a 2 hour delay tomorrow, February 5, 2020. Buses will run two hours late from their normal pick up time."
Concerns for the possibility of extreme weather Wednesday continues to grow.
At 11:30 a.m. the San Angelo Police Department sent out a Nixle alert warning the community the city is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 6:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Schools have begun to take precautions regarding delays and closures and we will be providing updates as soon as they become available.
Here is what we know now:
Paint Rock ISD announced they will be closed on Wednesday, February 5, due to “anticipated bad weather conditions.
On Thursday, February 6, classes will begin with a 2-hour delay and buses will run 2 hours later than normal.
In anticipation of the weather later this afternoon, they have moved up the Varsity Basketball games against Lohn. Varsity girls will play at 4:00 p.m. and varsity boys will play at 5:30 p.m at Paint Rock.
Schleicher County ISD classes delayed til 10 a.m. buses run two hours late Wednesday morning.
Grape Creek ISD classes delayed two hours. Buses running two hours late.
Olfen ISD Closed Wednesday.
Sterling City ISD delayed two hours.
Robert Lee ISD delayed two hours.
Water Valley ISD delayed two hours.
Irion County ISD delayed two hours.
Christoval ISD delayed two hours.
Blackwell ISD closed Wednesday.
Crockett County CISD delayed two hours.
Winters ISD delayed two hours.
Wall ISD delayed two hours.
Tom Green County Offices will not open until 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
