WATCH: SACMC Honors Veteran Employees

SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo Community Medical Center hosted its first annual Veterans Day Celebration to honor all employees and their spouses who served in the U.S Military.

Congregated on the front lawn of the hospital, employees and community members joined the Goodfellow Air Force Base Honor Guard for the posting of the colors. The crowd faced the incoming inclement weather to honor fellow veterans and remember the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI. The national anthem was performed by Morgan Christo.

After the presentation, Lt. Colonel Warren Conrow addressed the crowd and took a moment to remember the vital role that health professionals have played in every armed conflict and war that this country has faced. He highlighted medical personal that went above and beyond to aid their fellow servicemen and women. He emphasized the need to honor and support veterans, regardless of pollical differences.

This is the first year that SACMC hosts a special event for their employees and hope that it becomes a yearly tradition in the future. After the ceremony employees and attendees were treated to breakfast burritos.
