City of San Angelo Holding Public Meeting Regarding Airport Master Plan

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The City of San Angelo will hold a public meeting and workshop for the San Angelo Regional Airport Master Plan at 6 p.m. on Nov. 14, 2019 in the Airport Conference Room, located in the terminal building at 8618 Terminal Circle.

This is the third of four workshops to be held during the preparation of the study, which is expected to take between 12 and 18 months to complete. The latest master plan for the airport was adopted in 1995.

The project team will present the results of the development alternatives at this meeting/workshop. Potential improvements to the runway and taxiway system will be discussed, as well as the development of additional facilities, including location for aircraft hangars, airport access and support facilities.

Public Involvement is a critical part of the planning process and occurs throughout the development of the master plan. The purpose of public involvement is to include interested parties in the process of developing the plan, thereby ensuring the final product reflects the goals and objectives of the community as a whole.

An Airport Master Plan is a comprehensive study of an airport that focuses on short‐, medium‐ and long‐term development improvements needed to meet future aviation demand. It evaluates facilities that serve passengers, air cargo, aircraft owners, pilots and airport tenants, providing guidance on how these facilities should be updated to maintain a high level of service to the flying public into the future.
