SAN ANGELO, TX – On Friday, October 11th the SAPD held a very special retirement for K-9 Thor. After 6 years of faithful service to the SAPD, Thor is retiring to live with a loving family.
Thor has an impressive track record and has been instrumental in helping fight crime in San Angelo.

Thor received a special plaque to honor his years of service and a very special walkout on his last day.
While working with the Narcotics Division Thor achieved the following:
- 147 exterior searches of vehicles
- 47 interior searches of vehicles
- 267 Free Air Searches
- 13 Felony Narcotic arrests
- 16 Felony Narcotic assists
- 22 Misdemeanor arrests
- 38 Misdemeanor narcotic assists
- 60 Area searches
While working with the Patrol Division Thor assisted and is credited with the following:
- 26 Felony arrests
- 87 Felony assists
- 69 Misdemeanor arrests
- 116 Misdemeanor assists
Thor responded to nearly 300 crimes in progress and nearly 300 specific requests for K-9. He is credited with helping SAPD locating illegal substances in large quantities.
- 600 grams of marijuana
- 900 grams of methamphetamine
- 300 grams of heroin
