SAN ANGELO, TX -- The brisk weather didn't keep thousands from attending the 2018 Veterans Day Parade in downtown San Angelo.

Most spectators were bundled up as temperatures were in the upper 40s as the parade started at the corner of Concho and Irving Streets.

There were cars and trucks and motorcycles and horses and just about anything with wheels in the parage.
The Glory Bound Cloggers danced in a trailer behind a pickup.
Several units from each branch of service marched in the parade.

Today is Nov. 10, 2018 which is the 243rd Birthday of the United States Marine Corps.
Veterans Day is Sunday and the federal holiday is monday. Veterans Day is observed every year on November 11th.
Veterans Day evolved from Armistice Day, which was proclaimed in 1919 by President Woodrow Wilson.
Armistice is when warring parties agree to stop fighting; Armistice Day recognizes the end of World War One when hostilities ceased on November 11th at 11 A.M, 1918 (11th hour, of the 11th, of the 11th month).
