Patriotic Residents Line the Streets for the 24th Annual Santa Rita Parade

SAN ANGELO, TX-- As part of the countless events taking place in San Angelo on the Fourth of July, hundreds of residents turned out for the 24th annual Santa Rita Parade Wednesday morning.

The residents lined the streets along the parade route in the Santa Rita neighborhood, collecting candy and displaying their patriotism along with those in the parade.

Will Broome is a third generation San Angeloan and has live in the neighborhood since 1968 and he enjoys seeing the community come together in support of their country and their freedoms.

“To me, July 4, is symbolic to our nation and our history and everything the United States and its people have done,” Broome said.

The parade, which is held every year by the Greater Santa Rita Homeowners Association, began at Santa Rita Park. No motorized vehicles are allowed in the parade, but participants are always encouraged to decorate their bikes and wagons.
