It's important to remember the "why", behind our beer drinking and BBQ... American Soldier's fought and died in all corners of this earth to protect our freedom's and liberties! Memorial Day isn't for those who are serving, it isn't for those who've served, it's for the one's that never made it back home. I am thankful for their sacrifice, the ultimate and final act in combat, dying a warriors death so that we can live. Where would we be without them?
I used to be among the faction's of folks who would get "wasted", as a form of celebrating anything, I choose to stay sober minded during times of celebration like this, so I can live out my appreciation with all of my senses intact to savor the moments. But that's just me.
