Line of Thunderstorms Approaching San Angelo Sunday Morning

Radar indicates a line of thunderstorms moving into San Angelo this hour.  More street flooding is expected.  

Forecasters expect skies to clear by 1 p.m. this afternoon with a chance of scattered thunderstorms.

SAN ANGELO, TX -- San Angelo and the surrounding area are under a flood advisory until 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning due to heavy rainfall associated with a cold front moving through the area.  

According to the National Weather Service Office in San Angelo, Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall from south of Robert lee to Water Valley to Carlsbad to Grape Creek at 455 a,m, were developing southward to San Angelo. Heavy rainfall amount of an inch or more are possible, which could produce street flooding.

At 530 a.m.doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms...from Carlsbad to Grape Creek to Tennyson to Veribest. Movement was slowly south towards San Angelo. Rainfall amounts between 1/2 and 1 1/2 inches are possible through 730 a.m. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include San Angelo, Robert Lee, Bronte, Wall, Orient, San Angelo State Park, Twin Buttes Reservoir, Water Valley, Grape Creek, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Mereta, Carlsbad, Veribest, O.c. Fisher Reservoir, Vancourt, Lake Nasworthy, Tankersley, Tennyson, The Intersection Of Highway 208 And Ranch Road 2662 and Us-87 Near The Coke-Tom Green County Line.

  •    Howard and Webster...
  •    Southwest Blvd and Loop 306...
  •    Jackson From Knickerbocker to South Bryant...
  •    FM 2334 crossing Dry Lipan Creek...
  •    1500 Block of Spaulding...
  •    300 block of North Archer...
  •    FM 1692 crossing Concho River...
  •    FM 1692 crossing Sales Branch and
  •    Sul Ross AT Red Arroyo crossing.

Do not drive through these low water crossings or any other
low water crossing with water flowing across the roadway.
