SAPD Release Events for Police Week Coming Up

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — (SAPD Press Release) In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which it falls as Police Week. 

The San Angelo Police Department has a number of planned events that honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. 

The following events are open to the public:

  • Flag Raising Ceremony – Monday, May 14. 10:00 a.m., Police Headquarters, 401 E. Beauregard.
  • Coffee With a Cop – Tuesday, May 15. 8:30-10:00 a.m., Police Headquarters, 4001 E. Beauregard.
  • Crime Stoppers Running With the Blue 5K 1 Mile Run/Walk – Wednesday, May 16. 6:30 p.m., Police Headquarters, 401 E. Beauregard. FMI Laura Mantay 325-657-4333, http://getmeregistered.com/runningwiththeblue.
  • Ecumenical Service – Friday, May 18. 11:00 a.m., Sierra Vista United Methodist, 4522 College Hills Blvd.
