City Sales Tax Collection Up Almost $900,000 for 2018

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Sales tax receipts for the City of San Angelo are up for the first four months of 2018 according to information presented at Tuesday’s City Council meeting.  

According to Finance Director Tina Dierschke, sales tax revenue is up $65,443 for the month of April compared to the same month a year ago.  That’s 8.67 percent.

Year to date sales tax collection is up $888,361 or 9.08 percent above the same period in 2017.  

Sales tax by industry shows that 2018 revenue for most sectors is trending higher including retail, general services, food, wholesale and manufacturing.  

Dierschke reported sales tax revenue has increased each month of this fiscal year over 2017 since October 2017.  

December 2017 sales tax receipts were up 17.48 percent.
