College Hills Blvd. at Valleyview Closed for Construction Starting Thursday

SAN ANGELO, TX -- (Press Release) The project to improve College Hills Boulevard between Loop 306 and Valleyview Boulevard will require College Hills to be closed to traffic at Valleyview from Thursday, April 5, through Sunday, April 8.

The construction will involve grinding away the roadway’s asphalt and replacing it with a smoother driving surface – a process known as mill and overlay. The project, which began in February, is scheduled to last until late summer.

The College Hills project is part of an $80 million, 10-year effort to rebuild and repave San Angelo’s worst streets. The first project, on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, is nearly complete.

The City Council awarded a contract to rebuild Bell Street on Feb. 20. During construction on College Hills Boulevard, drivers will encounter lane closures.

Signage will help direct motorists through the work, which is scheduled to occur from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. In the next two-year phase of the 10-year plan, College Hills will be repaved from Loop 306 to Avenue N.
