GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, TX – (Press Release) Goodfellow Air Force Base will be testing its active shooter notification system Friday at 10 a.m. March 16. Individuals in the area may receive text notifications or hear the ‘giant voice’, a loudspeaker used to announce weather and safety conditions to the base, and should not be alarmed.
Delays at the gates can be expected during the exercise.
Like other military installations, Goodfellow monitors potential threats to the security of its personnel and resources and responds with appropriate action whenever those threats escalate.
In preparation for potential threats Goodfellow also tests its notification system to ensure personnel, families, and the community is notified of an emergency. The San Angelo community may experience some inconveniences caused and we regret any inconveniences these measures may cause our visitors.
