Officials Urge Caution as Wildfire Danger is Elevated

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The danger of wildfires is elevated today because of gusty winds and dry conditions according to the National Weather Service.  

There is no rain in the forecast for the next week according to the NWS and elevated to near critical fire weather conditions will affect all of West Central Texas Saturday due to hot temperatures, gusty west to northwest winds and relative humidity values of less than 15 percent.

Area residents are urged to exercise caution when engaging in any outside activities that could result in sparks or flames of any kind.

Tom Green County is not currently under a burn ban however outdoor burning is discouraged at this time.
