Firefighters Tackle Attic Fire in Home on Sellers

SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Fire Department fought a blaze in the attic of a home in the 300 block of Sellers St. on a cold Tuesday morning.

According to San Angelo Fire Inspector Joanna Jackson, this morning at a bit past 9 a.m., a couple living in the home saw and smelled smoke. They evacuated the house into the frigid cold morning and called 9-1-1.

Firefighters found a fire in the attic. Only smoke was visible from the outside. The fire was extinguished with no injuries to anyone.

Jackson is investigating the cause of the fire.

The American Red Cross will find accommodations for the couple if the damage renders the home inhabitable.
