Road Work Will Close Portion of Southland Monday

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Southland Boulevard will be closed to through traffic Monday, Jan. 15, between Sherwood Way and Green Meadow Drive as it is repaved.

The work is scheduled to occur from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Business driveways along Southland from the traffic signal at Sam’s Club and Walmart to Sherwood Way will be closed. Businesses including Sam’s, Walmart, Stripes Convenience Store, Concho Valley ER, Wendy’s, Dollar Tree, The Grill restaurant and Leslie’s Pool Supplies, Service and Repair will be accessible from Sherwood Way.

Access to Southland will be restored as soon as paving operations are safe for vehicle traffic.

The repaving is part of a larger project that has widened Southland from Sherwood Way to the Sam’s and Walmart entries. Monday’s work will involve grinding away the roadway’s asphalt and replace it with a smoother driving surface – a process known as mill and overlay.
