SAN ANGELO, TX -- While turkey hunting season is in full swing and many people are enjoying a turkey dinner this thanksgiving, some wild turkeys are safe.
These birds are foraging along the banks of lake Nasworthy near the horseshoe bend area. Hunting is prohibited in the public parks at the lake, so these guys are safe.

The leaves on the pecan trees are changing colors there as well and there are deer and turkey and squirrels living in the parks with abundant food and shelter and protection from hunters.
