GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Goodfellow is working with the community to provide trainees and permanent party members a home to visit this Thanksgiving, Nov. 23.
The 17th Training Group established the program to give service members an opportunity to enjoy Thanksgiving Day with local families, allowing them to host service members who are unable to make it home for the holidays.
“Home for the Holidays is a volunteer program that allows Airmen to be adopted by a family for Thanksgiving Day festivities,” said Tech. Sgt. LaTosha Enoch, 315th Training Squadron military training leader.
Prior service students, officer students and permanent party (E-1 through E-4) members from all services may participate. Members will need to sign a Memorandum of Understanding before participating. Sponsors must fill out an application before Nov. 17. For forms and more information please email Enoch at [email protected] or Staff Sgt. Carter-Grimes at [email protected], or call 325-654-1998.
“This is a really great program for airmen who are away from their families during Thanksgiving,” said Enoch. “This is a fun experience for the airmen so they can receive a hot meal and build partnerships throughout the local community.”
