Man Dies in Early Morning Motorcycle Crash

San Angelo TX—(SAPD PRESS RELEASE)  San Angelo Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that happened around 12:13 a.m. in the 400 block of East Avenue L.

The victim, Justino DeLacerda, 35 of San Angelo, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Eddie Howard.  DeLacerda was not wearing a helmet.

A preliminary traffic investigation indicates DeLacerda was traveling eastbound operating a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he crashed into the back of a 2014 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck that was also traveling eastbound.  The truck’s occupants, a 31-year-old San Angelo man and his 21-year-old male passenger, sustained non-incapacitating injuries.

Investigators with the Department’s Traffic Section and Crime Scene Investigations Unit responded to the crash and traffic along the roadway was shut down for several hours.

There seemed to be so many motorcycle accidents in San Angelo. Two vehicles traveling the same direction is very hard to understand how this happened. May the person who succumbed rest in peace.
