SAN ANGELO, TX — Residents of a home on Avenue M were able to escape a significant fire that erupted on the back room of their home.
According to San Angelo Fire Marshal Ross Coleman, the initial investigation revealed that the fire was electrical, an overloaded circuit.

As firefighters arrived, smoke was visible blowing up from the back of the house.
Coleman said firefighters performed a “rapid attack” on the fire. “Most of the damage is isolated to that back room,” Coleman said, pointing towards the converted porch. Four San Angelo Fire Department trucks and about 20 personnel battled the fire. There were no injuries.
Coleman said there was evidence of arcing near where the source of the fire was. The back room is heavily damaged and there is smoke damage throughout the rest of the home, Coleman said. The fire was in the 200 block of W. Avenue M.
