Second CityFit 5K To Benefit Open Air Museum

San Angelo, TX – On October 6, the second CityFit 5K will take place to benefit the open-air museum at the Red Arroyo Trail. The proceeds will go towards constructing a vibrant new entry to the museum.

Participants will have the opportunity to register for the race beginning at 4 p.m. at Unidad Park, or online at getmeregistered.com/CityFit5K. Cost of registration for the 5k and 1-mile runs will be $20. The races will begin at 6 p.m.  and will continue all along the trail. Winners will also be awarded medals after the race.

“This year, we’re aiming to top 200 runners and walkers. There was a lot of sweating and a lot of smiling at the end of last year’s race,” Budget Manager Morgan Chegwidden said. “We promise a great time getting fit.”

The CityFit 5K raised more than $2,500 last year, which was devoted to helping the creation of the artwork that can be seen along the trail. Over 159 citizens participated in the race last year.
