Lowe's Heroes Give Back

SAN ANGELO, TX – Lowe's Heroes Project unites once again to help the community of the Concho Valley. Two local establishments will be receiving renovations and repairs by local Lowe’s Home Improvement employees.

On September 10, Safety City will be receiving an upgrade to its facilities. According to a spokesperson for the local Lowe’s, the group of volunteers will be aiding in the remodeling of several buildings. They will also be performing touch ups, including repainting the train and other areas. The final project will include transforming an old building into an ice cream parlor for all the visitors.

Volunteers will be working from early in the morning, 7:30 a.m., to around noon. Any unfinished renovations will be continued on September 17.

Mosaic Redwine Childcare Center will be the main community project, for it requires more extensive renovations. The Center will be receiving a new sink that will go in the area reserved for infants and toddlers, as well as repairs and touch up to other rooms.

Lowe's will also be partnering with International Mulch Company to install a new rubber playground. The current one is older and does not provide the cleanest environment for the children who use the playground every day.

Lowe’s volunteers say they are dedicated to giving back to the community, have the opportunity to do so throughout the year. Over the years, the Lowe's Heroes Project has provided free renovations and built houses for Habitat for Humanity. The volunteers are also planning a Trunk-o-Treat event for this upcoming Halloween.

“We are always looking for ways to participate in the community, and help out where we are needed,” said a Lowe's spokesperson.

The store also hosts several opportunities for employees to interact with the community, the most frequent being the Build & Grow, which occurs twice a month.
