Officials with the City of San Angelo said a sudden influx of dogs has filled the Animal Shelter to max capacity (more than 150 dogs).
This could lead to the first euthanasia of adoptable animals in more than five months. To prevent this from happening, all dogs that have been at the shelter more than 30 days are available for adoption for $5, including sterilization, vaccinations and microchipping.
Prospective adopters can visit the shelter, 3142 U.S. Highway 67 North, until 6 p.m. today, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, or 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
Photos of the city's adoptable animals are posted at petango.com/sanangeloanimalservices.
