Author Liz Murray to Speak at Annual SAISD Convocation

On Wednesday, August 17, San Angelo ISD will be celebrating its Annual Convocation/Back-to-School Rally for all district employees.

The SAISD recognizes every campus and highlights departments across the district every year. The event will take place at 9 a.m. at the Foster Communications Coliseum.

The keynote address will be provided by Liz Murray, author of Breaking Night: A Memoir of Forgiveness, Survival, and My Journey from Homeless to Harvard. The movie Homeless to Harvard was produced based on her story of beating the odds and attending one of the most prestigious universities in the country.

The convocation will also be showcasing the talent of SAISD students. High school bands, choirs and combined color guard will participate in the event.

The public is invited to attend and support their schools.
