A press release from the San Angelo Police Department stated that officials are investigating an early morning “smash and grab” burglary at a local gun store.
Officers were dispatched to the O.D.I.N. Firearms and Supply store in the 4100 block of S. College Hills Blvd. around 3:30 a.m. this morning for an active burglar alarm. Officers arrived and discovered someone had forced entry into the store, smashed a display case, and stole several handguns.
"The incident was caught on store surveillance," said Officer Tracy Gonzalez, public information officer for SAPD. "Based on the surveillance video, alarm time, and police response, the incident most likely occurred between 3:15 - 3:25 a.m. Investigators discovered nearby evidence that placed the suspect in the Wildewood Apartment Complex parking lot after he burglarized the store."
The suspect appears to be a white or light complected Hispanic male wearing a camouflage uniform and hat, sunglasses, distinct shoes, and a black case affixed to his right hip.
Investigators are asking for the public’s help in keeping these stolen firearms off the streets. If anyone has any information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts, please call Police Dispatch at (325) 657-4315.
