Yesterday, TJ’s Frozen Yogurt and Coffee owners cut a ribbon in honor of their new location at 1313 N. Bryant.
This location is different than the one at 3347 Knickerbocker Rd. because it will be opening earlier and it has a drive-thru. This was added in hopes that San Angeloans realize coffee is another main product sold at TJ's.
“If you ask for it, we can probably make it,” said Janet Lay.
The owners of the new location are not only Janet and Tommy Lay, but also Gregg and Jewel Bowman. The couples decided to partner with one another to bring TJs to the north side of town.
“We are excited to be bringing TJ's to the north part of town,” said Janet Lay. “We have been wanting to expand because our other location is well received.”
Chamber of Commerce Membership Assistant Laura Lewis spoke on behalf of the Chamber and welcomed the addition with a smile on her face.
“This place is amazing. and it will be a yummy addition to the north side of town,” said Lewis.
A few health benefits of frozen yogurt were discussed as well.
“Frozen yogurt has a third of the calories that ice cream has,” said Tommy Lay. “It has cultures in it that can also help digestive systems.”
After discussing the pros of frozen yogurt and the new location, Mayor Morrison was asked to lead in a prayer.
Then, the ribbon cutting commenced and everyone was all smiles as they ate their yogurt and sipped on drinks the location has to offer.
