If your plans for spring break are to relax with the family in town, then there are a few things happening this coming week. Going somewhere for spring break could be expensive, so San Angelo has a few things happening for fun Mar. 14-18..
The Insane Inflatable 5K is coming to San Angelo Saturday and it will be bouncy obstacles full of fun. It will kick off at 8:30 a.m. at the San Angelo Fairgrounds today.
The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts has the Home on the Range spring break camp from Mar. 14th-18th. The camp will be at 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for children ages 7-12 only. Kids will get a chance to the wide-open range through an artist’s perspective. The kids will get to study local plants and wildlife like the early pioneers, create landscapes, fiber art, ceramics, and more.

The San Angelo Nature Center is doing a Spring Break Day Camp. It will be at 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 15, and Wednesday, Mar. 16. Tuesday will be for children ages Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Wednesday will be for children ages 3rd through 6th grade. The children will be participating in hands-on learning about wildlife and make a cool nature craft to take home.
The cost is $20 fee for members and a $25 fee for non-members. Snacks will also be provided.
The Wednesday Camp Day is the only one that is not full. The nature center is a good place to visit even if you don’t want to attend the camp. There are a lot of fun things to do for a day during your spring break.

The City of San Angelo and San Angelo Host will open and operate the Bosque for spring break. The Bosque is located at 330 S. Irving St. and it will be open Monday, Mar. 14th through Sunday, Mar. 20th from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. each day.
Activities that will be going on include: putt-putt golf, paddle boats, sand volleyball, washer pitching, bocce ball, chess, and food and drink concessions.
This spring break opening will serve as a ‘soft opening’ for the Bosque. The plan is for the Bosque to remain open during the weekends after spring break and then open again daily after school lets out for the year. For more information, contact the Parks & Recreation department at (325) 657-4450.
There are movies out now and you could designate a day to go see a new movie. Icon Cinema has $5 movie nights on Tuesday. Zootopia is a kid’s movie that is proving to be a popular one. It could be a fun and relaxing activity for everyone.
If none of those things sounds fun, spending a day at the lake could be what you are looking for, or taking the family to Stadium Lanes for some bowling. There is something for everyone in San Angelo.
