According to a GCVFD spokesman Jered Thomason, the owner of the property was burning a trash pile and the high winds blew the flames to a nearby abandoned trailer home. About 30 percent of the home was engulfed with flames when firefighters arrived to the scene. The firefighters brought the flames under control quickly. No injuries were reported.

Thomason further stated, “Though the burn ban has been lifted, it is strongly suggested to not do any outside burning. It is still very dry outside and winds tend to carry flames.”
