Woodsprings Suites kicked off its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday afternoon on the front steps of the newly constructed hotel.
“We had the Chamber of Commerce here, and also some of the people who helped construct the hotel; our ownership group and our staff,” Josh McWilliams, manager and partner, stated. “We are built to be an extended stay product, for people to stay two, four, or six weeks at a time; but, we also do nightly rates, and we do get a lot of nightly traffic.”
Every room is equipped with queen beds, a 40-inch HD television, and a full kitchen that includes a full size refrigerator, double-top stove, microwave, and pantry. Additionally, Woodsprings Suites offers laundry facilities on site.
“One of the reasons we chose San Angelo is, we looked around and there were not any economy hotels that were new,” McWilliams explained. “There also were not any extended stay products that were economically priced, so we saw a niche in this market that wasn't covered; and we obviously wanted to help cover that niche for people who might spend a month waiting to close on a house and they need somewhere to go and they don't want to spend a lot of money. We get traveling nurses that need to be here for two months and can't get a lease on an apartment and don't want to spend $5k for two months to stay in a hotel.”
While Woodsprings Suites' main purpose is to be for extended stay, they do offer nightly rates as well.
The hotel is located at 4013 West Houston Harte Expressway, on the corner of Arden Road.
