TxDOT to Begin Pre-Treating State-Maintained Roads

Beginning today, crews from TxDOT will begin pre-treating the state-maintained highways, bridges and overpasses prior to the anticipated winter weather, stated the San Angelo Police Department.

SAPD stated that the pre-treatment is a brine solution that dries white. It may appear slick when it’s wet; however, it does not cause any reduction in traction. This solution will help reduce the accumulation of ice and makes removal of snow and ice easier.

Crews will continue 24-hour shifts, and will work through Saturday morning.
