Meals For The Elderly Receives $7,500 Grant

Meals For The Elderly received a generous grant in the amount of $7,500 from the Harry A. & Cleo S. Kollmyer Memorial Foundation, said a press release Tuesday.

President & CEO Charlyn Ocker announced the receipt of the grant today. The funds from this grant allows Meals For The Elderly to prepare more than 2,140 meals for the homebound elderly of Tom Green County, stated the press release.

Additionally, this grant continues the Kollmyer Foundation’s legacy of support for the Meals For The Elderly program. Because the agency is not part of a government or United Way entity, donations, fundraisers, and grants like this one allow vital community service to seniors in the county.

“This generous foundation has been giving to us since 1992, and we are grateful for their support,” said Becca Edens, marketing & event director.
