No Chance of a White Christmas in San Angelo

For those who were hoping for a “white Christmas,” prepare for disappointment. The weather over the holidays is not going to change much from the comfortable temperatures we have been having for the majority of this winter.

“It’s not going to feel like December, I’m afraid,” said Joel Dunn, meteorologist from the National Weather Service.

The high on Christmas Eve looks to be about 67 degrees, and then 72 on Christmas Day. There is a 40 percent chance of rain on Saturday; however, the temperature will still be in the low 70s.

Dunn stated, “We do have a system coming through on the weekend,” but he is not exactly sure when San Angelo will see the effects of this cold front.

“Right now we are looking at just rain with cold conditions [on Sunday], but if that cold air speeds up a little bit, we might be looking at some frozen precipitation. We will know more probably by Thursday,” he added.

Right now, the temperatures are expected to drop significantly on Sunday, with a predicted high of 47 degrees and low of 32 at night. There will be a 40 percent chance of rain during the day and a 20 percent chance in the evening.
