The holidays are here, and as soon Santa and his reindeer have come and gone, and kids have opened their presents, families will be wondering what to do with their trees as they begin to prepare for the new year.
Well the City of San Angelo will offer residents two sites to recycle non-artificial Christmas trees, said a press release Monday.
From Sat., Dec. 26, through Sat., Jan. 9, residents can drop off their trees at the SAFE Recycling Center at 702 Warehouse Road, or at Foster Communications Coliseum parking lot, 50 E. 43rd St. Trees can be dropped off any time inside the barricaded area at each location; the city will run them through a chipper as needed.
The release stated trees must have all ornaments and decorations removed to prevent damage to the chippers. Additionally, the mulch from the chippers will be available for free from the SAFE Recycling Center Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For more information, call the City’s Operations Department at (325)657-4206.
