City of San Angelo Offices Closed Dec. 24-25, Jan. 1, Holiday Trash Pickup Schedule

 

City offices will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1 for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

Garbage will not be collected on Christmas Day. Residential customers who receive service on Fridays will have their garbage collected Saturday, Dec. 26. There will be no interruption of service on New Year’s Day. Republic’s offices will be closed from 1 p.m. Dec. 24 through Dec. 27, and on Jan. 1.

Among the City operations that will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1: Station 618 and Santa Fe Crossing senior centers, Southside and Carl Ray Johnson recreation centers, the San Angelo-Tom Green County Health Department, the San Angelo Animal Shelter, Fairmount Cemetery’s business offices, Municipal Court, Women, Infants and Children (WIC), and the San Angelo Nature Center.

City offices reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, and on Monday, Jan. 4, following each holiday.

Fort Concho and its visitors center will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 26 and Jan. 2, and from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 27 and Jan. 3. The fort will be closed Dec. 24-25. Fort Concho, 630 S. Oakes St., will close at 3 p.m. Dec. 31 and reopen Jan. 2.

The Nature Center, 7409 Knickerbocker Road, will be open Dec. 26 and Jan. 2, the Saturday of each holiday weekend.

The Nature Center will also host a New Year’s Eve slumber party for children ages 5-12 from 8 p.m. Dec. 31 to 8 a.m. Jan. 1. The youngsters will play games, make crafts, watch animal-themed movies, and interact with and learn about the Nature Center animals. Participants should bring a sleeping bag, pillow, pajamas and any other sleepover supplies. Two snacks and a light breakfast will be provided.

The cost is $25 for Nature Center members and $35 for non-members. All fees must be paid by Dec. 29. Registration is from noon-5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays at the Nature Center. For more information, visit the Nature Center or call 325-942-0121.
