There will be no garbage collection and landfill operations on Thanksgiving Day; however, residents whose scheduled collection day is Thursday will receive their service on Friday. Additionally, Friday's collection services will be moved to Saturday, Nov. 28.

According to the press release, Fort Concho will be closed Thanksgiving Day. The fort, including the Barracks 1 Visitor Center, will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, for self-guided tours. The fort will be open during its normal weekend hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9. The visitor center will be available for sale passes and tickets to Christmas at Old Fort Concho on December 4 through 6 and Weldon Henson’s Cowboy Christmas Dance on December 3 in the fort’s stables.
