Labor Day is around the corner, and as usual, many city offices will close Monday, Sept. 7 in observance of the holiday said Anthony Wilson, public information officer for the City of San Angelo, in a press release.
Despite the many closings, there will be no interruption of garbage collection or landfill operations during the holiday weekend, including Labor Day. However, Republic Services business offices will be closed.
The city offices that will close include City operations, Station 618 and Santa Fe Crossing senior centers, Southside and Carl Ray Johnson recreation centers, the McNease Convention Center, the San Angelo-Tom Green County Health Department, Fairmount Cemetery’s business offices, Municipal Court, the San Angelo Nature Center and the San Angelo Animal Shelter.
Additionally, Labor Day is Municipal Pool’s final day of summer. Public swimming on Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the holiday weekend will be from noon to 6 p.m. Admission to Love Municipal Pool, 18 E. Avenue A, is $5 per person for ages 3-64, free for children younger than 3, and $3 for ages 65 and older.
For Nasworthy lake goers, admission will be charged throughout the holiday weekend at Spring Creek and Middle Concho parks. Day passes cost $3 per vehicle for City residents and $6 for non-residents. Camping passes cost $6 per campsite for City residents and $12 for non-residents. This is the last weekend through next spring that lake visitors will be charged for admission.
All City offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, Wilson stated.
