Shelter Pit Party to Feature Dogs, BBQ

The San Angelo Animal Shelter and Concho Valley PAWS are hosting a Pittie Party – as in pit barbecue and pit bulldogs – Saturday, July 25, at the shelter that will feature live music, grilled meats and opportunities to adopt a pet.

The party will be from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at the shelter, 3142 U.S. Highway 67 North. Donations of $10 per vehicle will be accepted for those entering the shelter.

The festivities will include live country and rock music from the band Spent Shell, cooking contests, barbecue for sale, and $20 adoptions of pit bulldogs, all of whose health and socialization have been fully vetted. Normally, adoptions of dogs cost $85, which includes the animal, spaying/neutering, vaccines and a City tag.

Other breeds of dogs will also be available for adoption for $20. Cats, which normally cost $50 to adopt, will be available for $10.

For more information, call the shelter at 325-657-4224.
