Body Discovered at MLK Park

The body of an unknown subject was located in the gazebo of Martin Luther King Park Thursday at roughly 4 p.m.

Several San Angelo Police Officers were seen standing inside the the yellow crime scene tape, which stretched around the perimeter of the park's playground.  The body of the unknown individual lay covered with a white sheet under the park's gazebo.

Officers and a CSI tech milled about with stoic faces, searching the area and taking photographs as a crowd of spectators looked on. At around 4:30 p.m., Detective James Hernandez arrived and conferred with responding Sergeant Matthew Vaughn, before collecting information from CSI techs and family members, who stood weeping in the parking lot.
