San Angelo Police Chief Elected President of State Wide Chiefs Association

On Thursday, April 2, 2015, The Texas Police Chiefs Association named San Angelo Police Chief Tim Vasquez as the organization’s 57th President.

The announcement came at the conclusion of the association’s final business meeting, which was held during the organization’s recent annual conference in Galveston, Texas.

Nominated and elected by a board of past Presidents, Vasquez is the second Hispanic Police Chief to hold the position for the association, which was founded in 1958 to promote, encourage and advance the professional development of the Chiefs of Police and senior police management personnel throughout the State of Texas.

Prior to this seat, Vasquez has served the TPCA since 2005 as the association’s First, Second, and Third Vice President, Secretary, Sergeant at Arms, and Region 6 Director.

Vasquez will be officially sworn in as President at the Texas Municipal League’s Annual Conference, slated for September 25, 2015 in San Antonio.

“It is an honor to serve all police Chiefs across our great state, as well as to represent San Angelo in such a capacity.  I look forward to partnering with my peers to explore creative ideas and find innovative solutions to the many challenges facing our profession today, said Tim Vasquez.

Vasquez is the first Police Chief from San Angelo voted to the elected board.
